So you have setup your email on your iDevice (ipad, iphone etc.) and even though you can receive email you get an error trying to send mail.
This guide assumes that you have set your mail up correctly using the mail server details on your cPanel page. See How to setup my mail FAQ if you have not yet completed this step.
- Make sure you are using IMAP as your mail option and not POP3 - IMAP creates a link between your email program on your device and the server to ensure mail changes are reflected to all installations of this email address. For example deleting a message on your desktop also removes it from your phone.
- Go into your Settings - Mail, contacts, calendar - choose your email address - at the bottom go to outgoing SMTP (you may need to close your onscreen keyboard) Make sure Use SSL is green and authentication method is Password and that the server port is 465.
Back out of the settings by choosing Done at the top and return to your mail program, mail flow should now be working in both directions.
